I am writing this post to express my\u00a0strong convictions is Adopting a pet vs. shopping for a pet.<\/span>
\nFor starters, there is\u00a0an estimate from the HSUS (Humane\u00a0<\/span>Society of United States) that animal\u00a0<\/span>shelters care for between 8 million\u00a0<\/span>animals a year. An estimated 3-4 million\u00a0<\/span>of these animals will be euthanized each\u00a0<\/span>year.<\/span>

I can tell you first hand that adopting a\u00a0pet and saving a life from being\u00a0<\/span>euthanized is one of the greatest feelings\u00a0<\/span>in the world, as I have two rescues\u00a0<\/span>myself.<\/span><\/p>\n

My girls are Lakota\u00a0and Miracle, and they I not only rescued them, they rescued me\u00a0many times in return. Here is a picture of\u00a0<\/span>my beautiful babies! They were babies in\u00a0<\/span>this photo!<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Lacota<\/a><\/p>\n

Lakota was adopted at the age of 6\u00a0months old, and she had no training. She\u00a0<\/span>wasn\u2019t house broken and no obedience<\/span>
\ntraining at all. When I first adopted\u00a0Lakota, I was told she was not\u00a0<\/span>trainable. Well, 2 weeks after her\u00a0<\/span>adoption, she was potty trained, and was\u00a0<\/span>already learning tricks. Oh, and I forgot to\u00a0<\/span>mention, she is also an agility\u00a0<\/span>Champion!<\/span>

Miracle was adopted at the age of 3\u00a0months, and she was potty trained within\u00a0<\/span>two weeks, and already learning tricks as\u00a0<\/span>well. She as well is an agility Champion,\u00a0<\/span>we just never competed.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Miracle<\/a><\/p>\n

My dogs are both mixed breeds. Lakota\u00a0is Lab\/Beagle Mix, and Miracles is\u00a0<\/span>Australian Cattle Mix. They have no fancy\u00a0<\/span>AKC papers, and I could care less! They\u00a0<\/span>are two of the most loving dogs I have\u00a0<\/span>ever known. They are my world, they are\u00a0<\/span>my life, they are my everything. They\u00a0<\/span>make me smile & laugh daily! You see, I\u00a0<\/span>struggle with MS, and they are my BEST\u00a0<\/span>MEDICINE!<\/span><\/p>\n

Dogs are trainable, cats too, you just have\u00a0to be consistent and persistent, key\u00a0<\/span>words, persistent and consistent. Once\u00a0<\/span>you’ve gained your dog\u2019s trust, and\u00a0<\/span>they’re gained yours, you\u2019re golden! You\u00a0<\/span>can do anything with them. They are my\u00a0<\/span>best friends, and my fury kids. I believe\u00a0<\/span>it\u2019s people that are not trainable,\u00a0<\/span>but animals are very trainable. They want<\/span>
\nto please you, that is why I believe God\u00a0put them here on earth, for a mutual love\u00a0<\/span>that can never be matched.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are so many dogs and cats that\u00a0need adopting, you have read the\u00a0<\/span>numbers, your best friend is in a shelter\u00a0<\/span>somewhere close to you, you just haven\u2019t\u00a0<\/span>looked yet. Please, don\u2019t wait, or hesitate,\u00a0<\/span>go ADOPT your best friend today.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lakota is now 9 years old, and Miracle is\u00a07 years old! i wouldn’t trade them for anything<\/span>!<\/p>\n
