Latt\u00e9\u2019s Story<\/h1>\n

I had been looking to adopt a cat for quite a while. \u00a0I had always been afraid to have a cat because I\u2019m not home much and thought that I\u00a0wouldn’t\u00a0be able to properly care for a cat. \u00a0I learned differently when I was watching a friend\u2019s cat while they were away.<\/p>\n

I learned that cats are more self-sufficient than what I thought they were.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/b><\/p>\n

I adopted Latt\u00e9 from the humane society in May 2009. \u00a0As I was checking the daily listing of cats that were in adopt her face really stood out to me and I had a real strong feeling that she was to be my cat. \u00a0She was a little older than what I wanted, but, I knew she was the cat for me. \u00a0I went to the humane society early that Saturday morning to take a look at her. \u00a0I\u00a0couldn’t\u00a0find her. \u00a0One of the adoption counselors was able to find her for me. \u00a0When the counselor brought her to me I could see that she was the cat that had been strutting past me several times with her head and tail held high. \u00a0For all I know she may also have felt that I was going to give her a new home and was trying to impress me.
\nTo this day she still struts with her head and tail held high. \u00a0As soon as I held her I knew she would be going home with me that day. \u00a0She\u00a0didn’t\u00a0like being held for long; and even now holding her is on her terms; but I knew she was going to be mine. \u00a0The counselor\u00a0didn’t\u00a0know anything about her except that she was picked up as a stray in a rough part of town. \u00a0I also suspected that she had been hurt previously because she would run and hide from me when she saw that I found the hairball she had hacked up or if I got the broom to do some sweeping.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

When I got her home she went and hid under the bed and\u00a0wouldn’t\u00a0come near me for several hours. \u00a0She eventually came closer to me while at the same time keeping her distance from me. \u00a0By the time I went to bed that night she was okay with being close to me and slept with me. \u00a0To this day Latt\u00e9 and I have a strong bond that gets stronger all the time and can\u2019t be broken.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Latt\u00e9 is a real blessing to me. \u00a0I have depression and am prone to some bad headaches. \u00a0Latt\u00e9 is always here for me and\u00a0doesn’t\u00a0leave my side until I\u2019m feeling better. \u00a0Latt\u00e9 is a real joy to have. \u00a0The love and care she gives me is priceless. \u00a0There have been many times that she has had a salt water bath from me because I\u2019m stressed and just not feeling well. \u00a0I so enjoy the head butts, kisses, and healing purrs that she gives to me.<\/p>\n
